So I submitted a picture to the paper. My reporter/photographer friend at the paper thought it was great and she thinks I should have a great chance of getting in. WOOOT. We were talking last night about how unfair it is that other people are just cleaning up in the photo world. We so need to go into business for ourselves and become world class photogs! Right… I’m trying to get my name out there but it’s just not happening. LOL Why won’t people call me back? *WHINE*

I hope my picture gets in. If it does it will be in next Wed’s edition for School Days. I stressed out and stressed out about this picture but on the bright note I got it in with TONS of time before deadline! YAY!!!! Deadline in Wed by 5pm. Well look, it’s only 10:30 AM now and I sent that sucker in yesterday! Go me! My editor’s when I was a reporter (actually in high school that was the same friend…) never got treated so nicely… I usually got my articles in about five minutes before deadline! ROFL…

I’ve just been so stressing out about this thing… and freaking out that I might get a picture in the paper…

Now i get to stress till next Wed to see if it shows up. (Though if I’m lucky my friend will tell me when they do layout this weekend… LOL)

We’re going to the park now. I’m hoping to get some neat pictures while I”m there. Hopefully with the sune shining today the pictures will be better then they were on Saturday with all those grey skies at the Kite festival!

Speaking of Kite Festivals, everyone… we want it to rain in DC on Saturday and be sunshiney on Sunday. Why? Because Saturday I have a girly thing and it is the National Kite Festival on the Mall in DC. The rain date is Sunday. So i want Saturday to rain so that they will put it on Sunday instead so I can do both my girly thing and the Kite thing!! LOL The Kite thing is part of the start of the cherry blossom festival. Which I want to go shoot that as well… wonder if my friend can sneak off of work? ROFL

Oh and more in paper news… my reporter friend did an article on a guy we graduated school with. (His wife is Caramon’s piano teacher.) He came in second place in the L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contest. Read the article: Local Author’s Story Comes in Second For Fiction Contest (oh and let me know what you think so I can pass it on to my friends)
