Since our excellent and wonderful and dreamy waterbed is in storage along with everything else we own, we’ve been sleeping on a futon for the past about a year. It’s just a very cheap futon, nothing to write home about. We actually threw our cheap futon mattress on my parents cheap futon mattress hoping this will do SOMETHING. Unfortunately… not much. So we threw on two egg crates and that helped a teeny tiny bit for a little while.
But… alas no longer. So I’ve been searching for a solution the last couple of months. We simply don’t have the space to move the waterbed in. (Nor could we, as everything is in storage and goodness knows if we could get all the parts out.) A friend recommended the memory foam as she had recently picked one up. Some others on a message board mentioned various foam pads and the like.
So searching around for different options and pricing and the like. I finally decided to buy the memory foam from Target. (Amazingly 10 dollars cheaper than Walmart! Isn’t that a crime?)
So here it’s been I don’t know, two or three weeks. I want to report that I may not have gotten a new mattress but my body sure thinks I did! It’s much better. Not only that but there’s no ditch where the foam has been mashed down like on that egg crate and on the cheap futon mattreses… ROFL This thing really does spring back FAST! Excellent.
From pricing, you can get one of these memory foam mattresses for around 50 dollars. The really good futon mattresses (which is what I probably SHOULD get) are about 500 dollars. So basically I paid 10% of that and I have a workable solution for now. I definately notice a HUGE differance. My back and knees and hips are doing much better. Thank goodness.
The foam gives a nice cushiony feel, yet it does conform to your body quite a bit! It’s amazing. So I’d recommend if you are looking for something to increase your comfort quite a bit and give your current mattress a little more life… go for the memory foam. The value is definately there.
I hope this helps anyone who might be in a similar uncomfortable bed situation. Sleep is very important. If you aren’t well rested then you are just going to suffer in every way. Good luck! I hope you will have the same luck I have had!

FINALLY! LOL this week’s was rad. The loser Veep who couldn’t stomache anything called in palmer. I miss palmer. I’m so glad he’s in there cleaning house, kicking butt, taking names… yadda yadda. đ Who’s idea was it to get that pansy guy on their ticket? Geeze. We live in a world where the leaders of our country need to be prepared to kick some arse.

Okay, I have seen last night’s 24 but this isn’t anything about it – so I’m not spoiling if you haven’t seen it yet. This was something I wanted to say a few days ago but got busy.
So… I think I figured out Marwon’s ultimate plan! See, we always need a good guy to turn evil… well…
So the story so far… Marwon has a bomb put on the tracks to derail the train and steal the nuclear override. He has Heller and his daughter kidnapped so their broadcast trial can overwhelm the Internet and he can use the override to hack into the all the power plants. The power plant meltdown was just to prove he was serious and keep the President in the air until Marwon could send the stealth fighter to shoot Air Force One down. At which point (lucky the nuclear football survived) he steals that to get one lone nuke.
Now, here’s my take… he knew that the VP would be spineless and knew Mike Novac would call in former President Palmer. But you see… after everything, Palmer is jaded and has turned against America. So with him in power, he sends Jack to raid the Chinese consulate and thus… possibly push the US toward nuclear war with China! ^_^
Okay, no I don’t think Palmer actually turns evil… but with the current writing staff and the plot twists this season, it also would not surprise me if Marwon is behind all this China stuff too, heh.
