I went downtown to what used to be the awesome Vintage clothing store. ALl the cool stuff is no longer there. 😦 Rats. Now where am I supposed to go? I was hoping to find something for the convention this weekend becuse i need some kind of cool costume. These conventions tend to be warm so cool would be nice. I was thinking harem/gypsy but I figured we’d see what we could find, know what I mean? While down there though there was something stinking up the stores and so my mother, who was with me, and I ended up feeling very ill. We came home and skipped the rest of the errands. Ugh. What a bumer. Ah well.

I doubled checked our reservations. We are still good on our rooms. The program is up so yay! I need to start planning what I’m hoping to do when. There’s plenty of kid stuff as well so the boys should have a TOTAL blast! I figure there’s enough of us to keep an eye on them.

I’m going shopping for snacks this week closer to Friday. I want to buy food at the market here to take to put in our hotel room to cut down on the whole eating out thing. It’ll just be easier that way anyway. We don’t have to try to eat on the same schedule or anything. We can eat when people are hungry.

I’ve started getting clothes ready. Costumes we do have and all that. I’ve got two costumes I can wear. I’m going to try to buy what I need for the gypsy/harem (i really don’t care which at this point) at the convention on Friday. I hope I can find something. I’ll whiz through the huksters room at 4 when it opens.

We’re leaving in the morning, time uncertain as of now. HOpefully leaving early will give us a head start on the crazy traffic so that it won’t be so bad and we can get into our hotel rooms and get our badges and be ready to go when things open up!

Am I working this year at Balticon? It’ll be the first Balticon I didn’t gopher if I don’t! I’ve had a lot of fun attending cons lately and not vounteering. However there’s a sense of pride when you help the con go smoothly. We’ll see what Hal ropes me into. I haven’t gotten an email begging for help yet, but you never know when I go and sign in and get my badge exactly WHAT people will snag me for as they notice I have returned after a decade! My gosh, has it been that long?

I’m really getting excited for Balticon! My month has been so busy between working at the school, working on some regular errands, my birthday, and the convention!!! Crazy life for me!
