Some men live and love, but remain unnoticed by the world at large. Other men rise to the forefront of the world’s attention.
Gordon B. Hinckley was the latter.
Leading the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the past nearly 13 years, Gordon B. Hinckley was loved by church members the world over.
I am one of them.
Gordon B. Hinckley inspired me. An eloquent speaker, a kind hearted man, a spiritual man, a man of great humour. A story for every topic, and a smile for those he served. These are the ways I will remember him. These are the ways I hope to emulate him.
Dear Prophet
You were really my first
The one I will always consider “mine”
I praise the Lord for His gift
You.
Leading our Church
Inspiring many
Inspiring me.
You leave your words
Your mark, your touch,
A legacy for future generations
A legacy we hope to live up to.
Missing you already
Though you are barely gone
Yet happy too.
Join with your wife, your parents, your loved ones
Your work here done
Nothing more deserved
Noone more deserving.
I hope to see you there
I hope to live as you
Thank you
For the laughs
The prayers
The leadership
The example

That he is
He was cool. Amazing.
So’s the guy following… so that’s good. But still… it seems so odd. Gordon B. Hinckley has been leader of the church for 13 years. He has influenced me for half my life, from before he was President to now.
It is always sad when great men pass, but I know he did so much work here that he deserves the break. 🙂

True that!!
BTW I was sad to see how low Edwards votes were in Florida.
And I’m more mad that the Democrtaic party is denying Florida their delegates. UGH!!! I mean yay, Hillary won’t get that many more votes… but it’s WRONG.

Re: That he is
I wasn’t too concerned about the low vote total for Edwards in Florida. He didn’t campaign there at all. So to grab 15% in a state he didn’t set foot in is pretty good, in my book. lol… of course, Florida didn’t even count anyway, so no biggie.
Florida broke the rules… as did Michigan. This is their penalty. They were explicitly told by the DNC to not move their primaries and they did it anyway. These is the penalty. So I’m not overly upset about it, to be honest.

Re: That he is
I don’t blame him for not bothering. Why bother with a state that won’t count.
But I can tell you this, after living in a MAJOR swing state that, like Florida, plays a huge huge huge role in the November presidential election, I felt very disenfranchised that my state was one of the last to vote in the primaries. It felt like it was useless since by that point the votes were collected and you knew who was taking the ticket.
That’s wrong.
So when Florida says they want their people to actually count, knowing how they are an important state… I say good for them. GOOD FOR THEM.
But the republicans realized that disenfranchizing voters is bad. Apparently the democrats SUCK. I really think that was an awful. I mean cutting them in half, which was one threat, OK… maybe. At least then they get represented. But this???? It is too bad. It disenfranchises.
Seriously, I think I’d have gone in and changed my party to republican just so I could at least have a voice in the election.
