It may come as no surprise, but I love new media. There’s something about the web that is just thrilling to me. So today’s Attitude of Gratitude post goes out to all those who make the internet a more enjoyable place for me!

From reading blogs, to catching up on missed television, to seeing web only content… there’s a lot of fun on the internet.

Maybe too much fun.

For example I have spent the last little over an hour searching for zombie related things. But why? This year’s NaNoWriMo novel isn’t about zombies again, is it? Well, no. Though I do have the idea down for book 3 of Juan of the Dead. NaNo ’11? Possibly!

Oh I digress. Because I saw the latest Blendtec youtube video. And it made me think, “Hey can you blend a zombie?”

Now that’s what I’m talking about. No longer do I have to sacrifice my collection of awesome records. (Some of these are limited edition! Batman soundtrack? Throw it!)  I can just threaten zombies with my Blendtec! Huzzah!

Of course they might think stealing the Blendtec and making Brain-Smoothies to be a brilliant idea…

I might need to rethink this plan.

So what are things that I do on the internet? First of all I find my children great classics to read. Huzzah for Project Gutenberg. This is the most brilliant website out there. I don’t know how I grew up without it. The beauty is that my kids can download their books via iBooks onto their ipods for reading on the go. We can read on the computer, we can read on the ereader, we can read on the phones. Hummina hummina.

I’ll admit that I get most of my news stories off twitter now. What is newsworthy? I’m sure CNN will “bark” it. (OK, their breaking news is brk… but I think of it as “bark” because of the whole “newshound” thing. Yes. I’m a news nerd. You don’t like it? Talk to the hand!) What are others reading? They tweet it. What am I reading? I tweet it!

Facebook allows me access to my people and what they like and their photos and how their farms are doing. Oh wait, I’m not talking Farmville, am I? Crud. I think my crops have all withered and my Mafia’s been destroyed. Darn NaNoWriMo!

And of course… there’s youtube. Ahhh youtube. How I love your “shows”.  I’ve learned useful things about what happens when you microwave certain items and of course… “Will it blend” that started my whole zombie internet search.

So here’s the awesome new video:

Thanks Blendtec for retweeting me!

RT @ladyozma: Because of this video, my next Blender is so going to be a Blendtec. Just because I need to Dalek Proof my house!

I’d like to say that for the record, I WOULD feel safe from the Daleks, except as we learned with Seven… Daleks can now levitate. I still say: Real Daleks don’t climb stairs they level the building! And if you don’t know what a Dalek is, then let me give you the same answer I told my school teacher so many years ago: It’s Kelad spelled backwards.

So what do you think? Can you blend a zombie? I hope they let us know because I’m sorrowfully down one Blendtec and need to know if it will save me from The Walking Dead.

Lady Ozma

**For the record, I have never used a Blendtec Blender. However, watching that vid makes me want one to protect myself from Daleks. Any blender manufacturer that ensures their blenders will keep you safe from Daleks is made of the win. I’m just saying. And if it will take care of zombies, too? SWEET!**

PS: for those that missed the awesomest of the awesome: Kids acting out RE: Your Brains by Jonathon Coulton (shameless plug for my friends… like it, fave it, comment on it, and share it!):
