When released to work, the frenzy began. Shams went over pillowcases in record time.
The number bandied about for pillowcases – 1100. We ended with not only plenty of extra pillow shams, but several worked furiously at machines producing more during the great stuff-a-thon.
Following the stuffing, we packed the pillowcases for mailing and loaded them onto a trailer. Postage well spent:
No women’s meeting is complete without something kitschy cute or food. Knowing that some might not stay for the provided luncheon, the leadership provided darling sacks for take-away. It totally screams “Relief Society”, with that little something extra the world knows as a “woman’s touch”.
Most people would not think of a women’s conference meant to celebrate the birth of their organization as a wonderful time to provide service, but that’s just what you get from the area leadership here. They are a dedicated group of women, passionate about charity and service. They put together one of the greatest events I will probably attend all year.
Happy 169th birthday, Relief Society!

How wonderful to have such a large group and be able to accomplish so much! I think that there is no better way to celebrate RS than to serve and be united in a cause.
