So I watched it. Sue me. It was a pretty even draw I think. Cheney did well in places and Edwards did well in other places. I will tell you that I think Cheney came off as a crotchety old man most of the time, where as Edwards seemed more at ease and able to laugh at himself. But they both did their fair share of griping at the other and pointing fingers. “No you are wrong.” “No you are wrong.” “You’re misleading.” “No you’re misleading.”
So I say, stalemate. Though I know that the left leaning news people are definately going to throw this one towards Edwards. After all that lousy showing by Kerry last week somehow translated into a win for him. So since Edwards was OK, he’ll be claiming the victory curtesy of the news and of course all the sheep who didn’t watch the news will follow suit.
I still can’t find a reason to care. Perhaps if you could line vote so vote for president and then vote for vice president seperately it would be better. This debate would have meant more and hopefully not been an annoying rhetoric fight.
Oh well, Edwards played the part of pretty boy well. What’s with the democrats and their pretty boy Veeps? Look at Gore! He was also a pretty boy, goodness knows Clinton was anything but… *SHUDDER* I still have nightmares of his chicken legs and blame those on the morning news as my distaste of 1. Mornings and 2. Breakfast. You watch those chicken legs running by on the news at 6:30 AM while trying to eat your cheerios before school and you’d have serious issues as well.
Overall:
Annoyance Factor 10
Mud Factor 8
Trying to toss blame (both) 8
Stating case (both): 5
Annoying Rhetoric: Definate 10, can you go to 11 on a ten point scale?
So let’s see what Friday brings, shall we?

I think it’s interesting that people think Bush should WIN a debate – he didn’t win the debates with Gore either – but the man is honest and he says what he thinks and feels.
It’s like putting John Wayne in a debate – no one loved John Wayne because he could deliver lines ala Kenneth Brannaugh – they loved him because he was a cowboy – and we love cowboys.

People love John Wayne?
I mean for something other than “it was the thing to do”. Seems like the only people I know who liked JOhn Wayne only like him because it seems like they should. Like it’s expected of them.
I personally think Bush did win last week’s debate. I don’t know that anyone should “win” but both sides should come off well because they answer questions and state their cases. Last week Kerry didn’t come off well to me, and Bush came off great. Last night neither candidate really came off well, though I think Edwards did better than Cheney.

Growing up, where I did – everyone in my family – no matter what side of the fence, loved John Wayne. I didn’t think I was older than you… maybe I am.

I don’t know, I’m a city girl… maybe that’s why… that and unless it is The Lone Ranger, just not so much into John Wayne. Though I saw him in the most hillarious romantic comedy recently that my parents forced upon me. What a riot that was. He decided to move to Ireland and was a former boxer who had killed someone accidently. He met this firey red head and fell in love. Best scene in it was when he was going to meet up with her brother (who hated JW) and tell him he was marrying the broad and that was all there was to it and the whole town follows him hoping for a fight! HEHE

John Wayne wasn’t the Lone Ranger – You didn’t like the Quiet Man???

I know he wasn’t the Lone Ranger. That’s just the only cowboy/western I liked. Well I also liked Zorro, but that wasn’t really cowboy now was it? HEHE I wasn’t real clear on that one, sorry. I mean tthat unless it is the Lone Ranger, I don’t like Westerns… dopey me.
Quiet Man? Don’t know… which one was that and I’ll let you know if my parents forced me to watch it. I generally end up reading when they put in a western. I’m not all that strange, I don’t know many people who really like those old westerns. Well aside from The Lone Ranger… but TLR is pretty much the ultimate…
I did once meet that guy who was in Roy Rogers. But I only went because I thought he was gonna have a horse there. Imagine my surprise. *SIGH* No horse. 😦 Oh well I got a signed picture of him and his horse. Yay horses!
