The market in Columbus has been beyond dead. On a recent talk with my realtor, she said no one is looking at anything. She is hopeful for when spring hits and the icky weather goes away and the market supposedly picks up. She’s had a few people in to look, but no one is buying and hardly anyone is looking. She thinks it’s just hte traffic issue right now.

I asked her about lowering the price of the house. She said while that never hurts, she doesn’t think our current price is affecting it at all. But if we wanted to knock it down to 199,900 and get it just under that 200k mark, maybe it would entice a few more people for the spring rush that should HOPEFULLY be starting in the next couple of weeks. She didn’t think it was necessary though we could discuss it.

Sir Megabyte and I discussed it. But we decided to do it. This takes us to a list price of officially under what we owe. By two grand. Not so bad, except then there’s realtor fees. :/ So no matter what, we are sitting at a definate loss. Right now, we are looking at starting with a 13k loss, and that’s if we get asking price. Ouch. Scary.

So now we have to hope that we can get someone to buy it as close to list as possible. Then we have to hope we can get a good deal with the mortgage company when it comes time to settle. We could get lucky… you never know. But now, best case scenario is that we are going to be stuck in this boat for at least one more year. Between selling the home, going to closing, and repaying back a possible 13k+. Geeze. That’s a car. Ugh. Well if all else fails, maybe we could set up a “car loan” type payment. *SIGH* Maybe then we could almost afford to move out of my parents.

I just have to get out of here. Bad. I’m going nuts. Would it be wrong to ditch all the family journeyings this year and runnin away to somewhere ELSe for a vacation?

This post is marked in a special locked post. For obvious reasons I hope.
