The coming of the Messiah is perhaps one of the most anticipated events humanity could ever experience.

2 And behold, he said unto them: Behold, I give unto you a sign; for afive years more cometh, and behold, then cometh the Son of God to redeem all those who shall believe on his name.
3 And behold, this will I give unto you for a asign at the time of his coming; for behold, there shall be great lights in heaven, insomuch that in the night before he cometh there shall be no darkness, insomuch that it shall appear unto man as if it was day.
5 And behold, there shall a new astar arise, such an one as ye never have beheld; and this also shall be a sign unto you.
-Helaman 14:2-3,5

The words of Samuel were not the only ones that we have to prepare us for the birth of the Savior.

5 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the aLord bOmnipotent who creigneth, who was, and is from all deternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a etabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty fmiracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the gblind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.
8 And he shall be called aJesus bChrist, the c Son of God, the dFather of heaven and earth, the eCreator of all things from the beginning; and his fmother shall be called Mary.
9 And lo, he cometh unto his own, that asalvation might come unto the children of men even through b faith on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a cdevil, and shall d scourge him, and shall ecrucify him.
-Mosiah 3:5, 8-9

We also have the words of Isiah.

6 For unto us a achild is bborn, unto us a c son is given: and the dgovernment shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, e Counsellor, The fmighty gGod, The h everlasting Father, The Prince of iPeace.
-Isiah 9:6

In Jeremiah we learn:

5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto aDavid a righteous b Branch, and a cKing shall dreign and prosper, and shall execute e judgment and fjustice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell asafely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR b RIGHTEOUSNESS.
-Jeremiah 23:5-6

For generations prophets spoke of the coming of the Savior, giving people something to look forward to, and we mirror it today as we look forward to a holiday only two weeks away. What will this day bring for you?
