So you people know that I’m a nerd. So what does Mama want? Guess what… I found a groovy meme to help me tell ya! And even better is said groovy meme is an internet contest. So like, I could totally win fat stacks of cool points with GameStop goodies. I happen to LOVE Gamestop. A lot. I really love that I now have one within a mile of my house.

Gamer Geek Mom at your service.  After my recent post on gaming, I’m sure that will come as NO surprise.

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

My holiday wish is the same as always… I want the day to be a memorable one for my family. I love the magic of Christmas and I love to see it filter through the whole day.

2. What is your Christmas morning / Hanukkah Nightly tradition?

This is crazy, but I’m a total Santa softie. Yes, I do believe in him. Every Christmas Eve we have to track Santa including watching all the videos. Thank you awesome people at Norad Tracks Santa and Google Earth. We love you.  We end the night by opening one gift that is pajamas. Decked out in our new jammies we read T’was the Night Before Christmas and the boys head to bed. After all, they know Santa won’t come unless they are tucked away and asleep! Even now that they are 12 and 14 we love it.

Overnight the magic of Christmas happens and Santa arrives with his sack full of presents. I get to be the first person to see what he’s done to our tree and I get my camera ready for the boys to come and see.  We love to open gifts one at a time, taking pictures and talking about the gifts.

Somewhere along the way we break for breakfast. We usually make cinnamon rolls (from a can, we’re too interested in presents!) or a breakfast bake that was prepared before Christmas morning.  My parents come over mid-morning with their gifts and we just enjoy sitting around and having fun with whatever we got. This involves movie watching, playing games, and building lego creations.

We also stay in our jammies all day. Because it’s Christmas!

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

If it’s just for me? Something sporty with a rag top. Oh yeah. And I’m not talking Miata. I’m talking like Ferrari or Maserati or some other redonkulously expensive thing.  I’ll even take it whatever colour, however my faves are pink, purple, or blue. Just saying… Santa could get the elves to paint something pink or purple, right?

But really, I’d like to take my family to Disneyland or Disneyworld. That’s pretty decadent if you ask me, though I suppose not really for myself. I’m just the kind of mom that is happy seeing my kids find joy. Mock me.

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

There are several things that we enjoy doing including: movie and game marathons, driving around looking at the lights, visiting the sights in DC (though technically that costs money…darn metro!), and going caroling. Yes, we carol!

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

Growing up my parents were major cribbage fans. We didn’t play a lot of games, but we did play cribbage. A lot.  Sadly I probably haven’t played this since the early 90’s so I can’t even remember how to play.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

We didn’t really have any traditions growing up. Just opening presents on Christmas morning.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas/Hanukkah-away-from-home trip?

I hate traveling over the holidays so it would have to be good. Like Hawaii. Or Disney. Or Europe.

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?

Bah I don’t even have to visit their site. Number 1 most wanted item: KINECT. No really. I want this so bad. My kids want it so bad. I WANT A KINECT!

If I had unlimmited funds? I’d get this one: Kinect Dance Bundle: It’s the Kinect with Kinect Adventures of course, but also Dance Central and Dance Masters. Ok, I have heard Central rocks, but nothing on Dance Masters. I just love to dance.

So I’d probably be better served to get this one: Kinect Family Bundle: It comes with Adventures, Dance Central, and Joy Ride. Dance Central for me (Ok, I know the kids would like it, too) and a racing game because racing games RULE!

Something tells me Mama really needs this one: Kinect Fitness Bundle: It has Biggest Loser and Your Shape Fitness Evolved. Yeah I’m always trying to lose these extra pounds.

Number 2: We like Rock Band. We have it for the Wii. We don’t have Rock Band 2 yet, and while I’d like it, I love the idea of Rock Band 3 with the keyboard. Of course we’d need this bundle. (Though I really like playing the drums on Rock Band!)

Number 3: Nintendo DSi for my youngest that still has an original DS. Specifically this orange DSi because it is his fave colour.  We already own Mario Party which is a FANTASTIC game, but I want that orange DSi.  (We actually own Mario Party for the Wii as well.) I told you that I was *that* mom. I’d want a DSi but I don’t want to give up my PINK DS Lite. Hello, it’s PINK! It’s safe from the BOYS!

Yeah I need all my toys to be pink or purple. That saves them from boys.

I love games. Probably more than I should. Now… Angry Birds Seasons is calling my name. Pigs… you’re going DOWN!
