That’s right. I am planning my next nervous breakdown to commence Saturday, November 1, 2008.
November comes bringing the start of the holiday season. Most people plan holiday trips, start shopping, prepare card lists.
And then you have the other people. Those that say such things can wait till December. Why worry over the holidays when you can spend the month of November pounding feverishly at a keyboard, rip your hair out over word counts, and cry in a chat room with all the other elect few? All these types need is a cocktail of NoDoze, Ativan, and maybe a dash of mighty hard liquor.
That’s right. Writers around the globe join one another in the insanity known as National Novel Writing Month. The goal? A mere fifty thousand words in thirty days. For you math whizzes out there, that’s roughly 1666 words a day. Piece of cake!
Let the insanity begin!
This will be my third year as a NaNo participant. The last two years I did reach my 50k goal. Will I this year? I will track my progress on my microblogs. MySpace will have a widget. You get the picture.
I’m ladyozma at NaNo. What are you surprised? That’s user 166110 so feel free to buddy me if you are participating.
It’s Word War Three for me. May I be granted the strength to survive.

I’m participating. I’ve been working on an outline for the last couple of months of the story I want to write for NaNo. I need to finish it, eek.
I’ve been spending October creating meals I could freeze to make November easier. I’ve made sheperds pies, lasagnes, a bunch of homemade pasta sauce, i cooked a turkey & split it into meals, made a vat of turkey soup, things like that. hehehe. I’ll also be utilizing my crock pot a lot during nano to help keep prep time down.
the husband has been warned that the slackage will begin Nov 1. we’re going to do a deep housecleaning over the next week so it won’t be so bad in November, and he’ll have to help with some of the slack. hehehe!

I wished I could participate this year but graduate school takes precedence. I have a presentation for a class to give. And two literature reviews to get done, plus a term paper, three precis, and a final in my org theory class the first week in December. So, my time is limited.

Been meaning to email ya. Just been busy and my laptop eating itself has kept me busy.
Maybe there’s next year. Though if you need slacker time… bwahahahaha… I still have to finish this crazy 50 question test for my Constitution class by next week. I’ve done 6. They are questions which means you have to actually figure out the answer and write it and most are essay. Geeze. Good luck with your crazy November!!!
